What's Coming For USV
I've been working on and planning a release of short USV snippets that will sprint along the timeline from 1000AD to 2000AD. These snippets will be sourced from longer vignettes. Handfuls of these vignettes, based in the same area and era, will be compiled for release into short collections (ten thousand words or around 30-40 pages. These collections will be released fortnightly starting later this year and (hopefully) will be reminiscent of the structure used by such amazing creators, such as Ray Bradnbury in his Martian Chronicles and Isaac Asimov's first few Foundation novels.
There will be fifty-five of these collections, and they will come out in a steady stream.
The USV Markland Settlement Series will also be completed with Odin's Hall and Markland Aflame, but that will only follow once the Ossard Series is finally wrapped up. I will also have regular posts here.
The USV short stories will cover a lot of critical moments in my alternate history.
In the past year, I've finished short USV tales set in every century of the timeline. Notable events follow below:
The declaration by the Godsland Gothi of the first At Fara in 1035AD
The exploration of the Raven Coast 1036-1150AD
The discovery of Greater Lakeland by the Wolves 1070-1120AD. The Bears' White Road
The Greenland Evacuation
The arrival of Columbus
The Reformation
The New Danelaw
The Western Crusade The founding of Einarstad and many more.
