Status Update #15: March and April 2026

Well, the past few months could have been better.
Our household has had two viruses run through it to take everyone down one at a time, with the break in between filled, unfortunately, with Lewis the Burmese having two stints in cat hospital with pancreatitis and diabetes.
I guess you could say that if it hasn’t been one thing, it’s been another, all following on from each other, and none of it has been good.

As you can imagine, all of this has not helped me with my writing.
Getting sick takes time to recover, as does caring for those around you who are ill. Some of that time is not just about being sick, recovering, or doing things attached to the care of others, but recharging and refocusing. The writing work I’ve been doing has focused on the editorial notes for USV#4: Odin’s Hall, but it’s taken twice as long as it should have.
Anyway, things are slowly getting back to normal, but I’m guessing I’ve got a few more days of coughing and sneezing to go before I’m well. On top of that, I now need to do twice-daily insulin shots for Leiws as well as five minutes of IV fluids every night. So, in the spirit of celebrating my relief that Lewis is still with us, and that we’re also on the road to recovery, here are some photos of one of the coolest cats in the world!

Anyway, here's hoping that after such a rough patch, that's all behind us! I'll be working very hard to ensure May gets back on track, and with wrapping up the USV#4 editing and back to writing USV#5.
