USV Patreon Passed 70 Posts!

8th June 2026

Well, my USV Patreon is now over 70 posts old! I started posting bits of USV history on Patreon back in July 2024, so nearly 2 years ago. Since then, after posting mostly weekly(ish) posts of historical moments from the USV timeline, I've put up over 112,000 words, or about 370 novel pages! About 200 pages of that would be USV#1-3, and another 100 pages are USV#4, and the remainder are tid-bits from 1300AD to 1990AD.

While there have been a few patches where the break between posts has been a couple of weeks or so, mostly I've posted almost weekly. The whole thing has been a bit of an experiment, and so far I've enjoyed it. I won't say I'm drowning in subscribers or that it's creating a deep and rich stream of income that has Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk knocking on my door asking for tips, but it has been an important part in getting me back into a regular writing habit. Some Patreon posts are available for free (but you need to become a Patreon subscriber), although others are locked (they are accessible to paid subscribers). For the record, the content that has not yet been published in novel form, such as chapters from USV#4, is only for paid subscribers. SALES COPY: It's only a buck a week for the first level of paid subscription! Click here to check Patreon out!

If you don't know about Patreon or how it works, basically it's a website (and app) where you can find creators of various sorts (authors, artists and musicians, etc) and you can subscribe to them for access to their content on the website or app. Most of what you pay, usually about a buck a week, goes to the creator. Not only does it give you access to what creators are producing and posting, but it also provides a channel for updates, etc.

Anyway...

At this point, if you're wondering what the picture above has to do with anything, it relates to the latest Patreon post, which is set in the United States of Vinland, in 1990, on the southern Raven Coast. Meanwhile, for those of you who are reading this and indulging me, I'm wrapping up the editorial notes on USV#4: Odin's Hall. It's taken a lot longer than planned.

Back in January, I had expected USV#4: Odin's Hall would be released at the end of this month, but after a few family and personal dramas, I'll be needing to push it back just a few months. It's now looking like the end of September. Believe it or not, we're getting closer! My next post will be the covers of the next four USV Settlement Saga releases (two short stories and two novels. These will all be out by the end of the year. A status update for work in June will follow at the end of the month. In July, I'll be hoping to do a cover reveal for a separate USV release! Stay tuned! Thanks for checking in!
