Status Update #17: September 2026

8th October 2026
September has been very busy in a lot of ways (too many ways). The day job was flat out, I’ve also broken in a new writing laptop, and from a relaxation point of view there were a few great moments like dinners with out-of-state friends, as well as in-state friends, plus a few grabbed breaks that AFL football finals deliver every September.
The day job has stepped up a gear, but the craziness of platform changes and other (boring) stuff has now passed over, hopefully leaving a good six-nine months of reasonably predictable slog ahead. Predictable lets me work in around 3 hours of writing work a day, so that is good.
So what writing did I get done in September?
Well, look below, but before you do, I need to add that the 74,000 words of reviewed text is largely just a read and light revision. It’s the last step in the process before a 1st or 2nd trip to the editor.
15,000 words on Markland Aflame
7 Patreon posts, 6,000 words (included in the above)
25,000 words reviewed on White #1
49,000 words reviewed on Odin’s Hall
The one thing I didn’t do was get more blog posts in, but I have been prepping some, so they should kick off soon. Notably, I’ve lined up a series on influential reads mostly from my youth.
That’ll have to do for now. I’ll be back in a week or so.
Take care, and thanks for checking in!
