Status Update #7: July

2nd August 2025

This post is a few days later than planned. Regardless, July was a productive month. Almost all of my output was for USV#4: Odin's Hall, with me clocking up 25,000 words in total. I'll break it down below, as not all of those words were new (some were the last revision of chapters before being locked in). July:

5,000 words for Patreon

1,000 words for blogs and social media

10,000 words for USV#4 (final revisions)

plus 9,000 new words for USV#4

Going forward, from August until the end of the year, I think I'm on track for a good run of writing. There's no real scheduled hurdles in there, but there will be another trip to Perth towards the end of the year for family stuff. Work (the day job) is still pretty busy, but at the moment I feel like I'm on top of that.

So what does that mean for:

Dragon Tide season 2

Everything is progressing in its own way. I'm trying to stay focused on wrapping up some USV stuff more than anything, because it has the most readers. And a release is long overdue. I'll also get back to Ossard eventually, but USV needs to take priority. Additionally, for Ossard, I need to do a read-through of what is published to ensure I'm wrapping up all the storylines. The latter takes a lot of focus. In truth, focus is getting hard to find with the day job and family stuff.

And, what about Dragon Tide?

Dragon Tide is like taking my writing brain to the gym. The monthly instalment model of it is about some high fantasy, fun-with-dragons, writing sprints. All in all, it's preparation for the USV Tales stuff that will kick off after USV#4 and USV#5 are published. If you're interested, give it a look. Season 2 is something I'm starting to work on, but I'm probably four weeks behind where I want to be. Anyway, that's where things stand now.
