January 16, 2026 Today I wrapped up the revised USV#4: Odin's Hall manuscript. It'll head to the editors shortly and be out in the next few months. USV#5: Markland Aflame is already close to half done. I've also got the first draft of a short story set in Norse America, and plan to have a second one done in time for these two novels and shorts to come out, spread over a couple of months, in one big (and kind of dragged out) USV hit. For any readers who are STILL waiting, thanks for your patience! We're almost there! I've got to get covers arranged for the short stories, as well as full paperback covers arranged, so there is still a lot of work to do. There will also be booking some marketing. Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea. There's more to this writing gig than just sitting down with a coffee and coughing up a thousand words a day. I also need to get the paperback version of A Valkyrie of Vinland sorted. The short is currently only in ebook. And then, with the cover art change a few years ago (again on ebooks) I want to get the paperbacks of the previous novels and shorts aligned. So, you might be thinking, is that it? Is that the relaunch? Is there anything more? Well, you know what, I feel like the 2 books and 2 shorts are kinda pretty impressive, but having said that, there is going to be more. Quite a bit more! Some of the more is already on display in my USV Patreon, which has (almost) weekly USV instalments posted for paid subscribers. There will also be some more USV short stories in collections, and some other stuff. I know what I'm working towards here, but I'm still drifting a little with some of the details of the plans, so I'm not going to spell it all out here yet, but I will say that we're looking at quite a few USV shorts as well as a few longer works for USV, and that's all for this year.
Keep checking back!
